A longtime professor of dance at Connecticut College resigned on Monday after campus officials discovered that she had padded her résumé and never actually completed her bachelor’s degree, reports The Day, in New London, Conn.
Lan-Lan Wang, who had taught dance at the college since 1994 and was chair of the dance department until 2006, had claimed to hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Iowa. Actually, however, she had failed to earn any degrees there.
Connecticut College was alerted to the discrepancy by an e-mail message questioning Ms. Wang’s credentials. Iowa officials confirmed that she had never graduated, a Connecticut College spokeswoman told The Day.
The newspaper said Ms. Wang could not be reached for comment. —Caitlin Moran
