Mark Chamberlain, President Emeritus of Rowan U., Dies at 82

Mark M. Chamberlain, president emeritus of Rowan University, died in Berkeley, Calif., on March 29. He was 82. He led the institution, then known as Glassboro State College, from 1969 to 1984. He was then a professor of chemistry until he retired in 2000.

Sydney Kustu, a professor emerita at the University of California at Berkeley, died in Berkeley on March 18. She was 71. An expert on the regulation of gene expression, she was a professor of microbiology, immunology, and plant pathology at Berkeley from 1986 until 2010, when she retired.
