Anti-Evolution Vandals Appear to Take Aim at U. of Florida Biologists’ Cars

Two biology professors at the University of Florida say their cars have been the repeated targets of vandals apparently stirred into action by the pro-evolution insignia on the vehicles. According to The Independent Florida Alligator, a student newspaper, religious tracts were first left on the cars. Then bumper stickers espousing evolution and Darwin-fish emblems were scraped off. Most recently, tires were punctured with nails. The two professors acknowledge that they can’t be sure the vandals are creationists or anti-evolution activists, and they have yet to file a police report about the incidents. Commenters at the Florida Citizens for Science blog, which has some photographs of the damage, urged them to report the incidents and rig up security cameras to help identify the vandals.
