Lars Maischak, a lecturer at California State University at Fresno who came under fire this spring for tweeting that “Trump must hang,” will not teach at the university in the fall, the Fresno Bee reported.
Joseph I. Castro, the university’s president, announced the news in a message to the campus.
In line with the university’s “contractual obligation,” Mr. Castro wrote, Mr. Maischak “has been assigned to convert two courses to an online format which meets his unit requirement per the faculty collective-bargaining unit agreement.” That assignment ends on December 20, Mr. Castro said.
Mr. Maischak posted a series of controversial tweets in February, and drew scrutiny after Breitbart News featured them in an article, in April. In the midst of the controversy, he told The Chronicle that he did not intend harm with his tweets, and he apologized.Return to Top
