Jack Welch’s Online Institute to Move From Chancellor U. to Strayer

Jack Welch, the former chief executive of General Electric who put $2-million into launching the Jack Welch Management Institute at Chancellor University two years ago, is buying back a share of the online executive-education institute and moving it to another for-profit institution, The Wall Street Journal reported. Mr. Welch and Strayer Education Inc. are expected to announce a $7-million deal to buy the institute today, with Strayer ponying up 70 percent of the funds and Mr. Welch the remainder. The deal is expected to close by year-end.
