Saint Louis U. Faculty Senate Wants Official Fired Over Tenure Proposal

Manoj Patankar, the university’s vice president for academic affairs, is tied to a proposal that would have altered the university’s handling of tenured faculty members. The university dropped the proposal in the face of criticism. The Senate’s 50-to-3 vote on Tuesday follows a similar vote of no confidence by the Faculty Council of the university’s College of Arts and Sciences last week.

An emailed statement from a university spokesman on Wednesday morning said the university’s Board of Trustees had affirmed its support for its president and all of the vice presidents.
