U. of Wisconsin at Madison Leads in Number of Peace Corps Volunteers

The University of Wisconsin at Madison leads the Peace Corps’ latest rankings of the large, medium, and small colleges that supplied the most volunteers to the service program in the last year, the Peace Corps announced on Tuesday.

Madison held the top spot from 2001 through 2006, and led this year’s large-university category by producing 90 volunteers in 2013. For the second consecutive year, Western Washington University and Gonzaga University produced the most volunteers in the medium- and small-university categories, respectively. The University of California at Berkeley continues to lead all other institutions in the cumulative number of its alumni who have served in the Peace Corps’ history, with 3,576 volunteers.
