‘Wall Street Journal’ Rankings: Big Firms Hire Students From Big Universities

The largest American companies tend to hire new employees from big, well-known public universities, The Wall Street Journal reported today. The Journal ranks the “Top 25 Recruiter Picks” based on survey responses from directors of campus recruiting at 479 of the biggest businesses, whom it asked to indicate which colleges and universities on the newspaper’s Top-100 list produced graduates with the best education, training, and ability to succeed  (the rankings also break down by major, primarily in the fields of finance and technology). Some companies have even opened offices near favored sources of new hires, including Google and Campbell Soup in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Journal reported. Topping the ranking was Penn State.
