QuickWire: Parties in Google Books Settlement Get More Time

Google and the authors’ and publishers’ representatives who sued it over its mass book-digitizing program get more time to decide what they’ll do next in the case, Publishers Weekly reported via Twitter. At a status hearing held today in Manhattan, Denny Chin, the federal judge who rejected a proposed settlement in March, gave the parties an extension until July 19. The hearing lasted 5 minutes, according to PW.
