With the success of such ventures in bookstores across the nation, it seems to me an idea with some merit. It would create, I think, an image of the library as a friendlier place, one that could be both a hangout and a structure of learning. My one concern would be of opening up that market to corporations. Granted, Starbucks could do the job, but I think that a shop staffed and run by students would be more benficial to the campus by providing jobs and an extra source of revenue for the library or the school.
