My SO and I might be offered positions at a small state school.  This is a special case where two positions where open in the same department and we each applied for one (so not a spousal hire situation).  One is a TT position and one is not.  The SC and Dean know that we are married.  I was wondering how negotiations would work in a situation like this.  To us, we would consider things like salary as a split pot (so, if he were not offered much of a salary, I would require more).  I assume that we negotiate each position separately, but am not sure how to approach it if the time comes.  Any suggestions?
