
I n an array of articles on college drinking, The Chronicle explored alcohol’s impact on campus culture at the University of Georgia, where students pack dozens of bars every weekend. A variety of people described their competing roles in the scene: the police chief, the fake-ID guy, the bar owner, the educator, the student party planner, and the tailgater. “It’s a business of excess,” said the bar owner. “It’s made me jaded in some ways, to see the best and worst in people.”
