Hundreds of scholars have signed a petition opposing President Trump’s executive order, signed on Friday, which bars all refugees and citizens of seven Muslim countries from entering the United States.
Citing three reasons — that the order is discriminatory, that it is “detrimental” to the interests of the United States, and that it “imposes undue burden” on members of the academic community — the petition has garnered signatures from faculty members across the country, including several Nobel laureates.
