Jimmy Baker was named chancellor of the Alabama Community College System, beginning April 1. He has served as its acting chancellor since August last year when Mark Heinrich took medical leave. Mr. Heinrich said he planned to retire in April 1.
Marc Camille, vice president for enrollment management and communications at Loyola University Maryland, was named president of Albertus Magnus College, in Connecticut. Mr. Camille will start on June 30 and will take over from interim president Sister Anne Kilbride, who has led the institution since last summer, when Julia McNamara retired after 34 years at the helm.
David Cassady, founder and president of Faithlab, a creative-services firm that works with churches and nonprofit religious groups, was named president of the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. He will start in May and will succeed the seminary’s first president, Greg Earwood, who retired in July last year after 15 years at the helm.
Chris Domes, president of Silver Lake College, in Wisconsin, was named president of Neumann University, in Pennsylvania. He will take office on July 1 and will succeed Rosalie Mirenda, who plans to retire on June 30. She has led the university for 21 years.
Marshall Hicks, head of diagnostic imaging at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, was appointed the center’s interim president. He took over from Ronald DePinho, who has retired.
Steven Leath, president of Iowa State University, will lead Auburn University, starting on July 15. He will succeed Jay Gogue, who is retiring after 10 years as president.
Mary Meehan, a former president of Alverno College, in Wisconsin, was appointed interim president of Seton Hall University, in New Jersey. Ms. Meehan will start on April 11 and will take over from A. Gabriel Esteban, who will become president of DePaul University.
Patricia Moulton, who has served as interim president of Vermont Technical College since September, was appointed president. She will be the first woman to lead the college. Ms. Moulton was previously secretary of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development for the State of Vermont.

The Rev. Scott Pilarz, president of Georgetown Preparatory School, in Maryland, was named president of the University of Scranton. He previously led the university, in Pennsylvania, from 2003 to 2011. He will succeed Kevin Quinn, who will step down in June.
Kevin Rome Sr., president of Lincoln University, in Missouri, was appointed president of Fisk University, in Tennessee. He will take over from Frank Sims, who has served as interim president since September 2015, when H. James Williams resigned. Mr. Rome will start on July 1.
Juan Salgado will be the next chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago. He has served since 2001 as chief executive of Instituto del Progreso Latino. Mr. Salgado will succeed Cheryl Hyman, who has served as chancellor for seven years.
Gerard St. Amand, a law professor at Northern Kentucky University who previously served as dean of its law school, was appointed the university’s interim president. He will take over from Geoffrey Mearns, who will leave to lead Ball State University.

Jairy Hunter Jr., president of Charleston Southern University, will step down on May 31, 2018. He will have led the university for 34 years.
Retirements
John Anderson, president of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, said he plans to retire on March 1, 2018.

Onora Sylvia O’Neill, an honorary professor emerita of philosophy at the University of Cambridge, was named the 2017 Laureate for the Holberg Prize for her contributions to the field of philosophy and for renewing interest in the work of Immanuel Kant. The Holberg Prize, which comes this year with a financial award of about $525,000, is bestowed by the government of Norway.
Barbara Racine, director of the college bookstore at the University of Puget Sound, has received the Aspen Award from the National Association of College Stores for her lifelong contributions to the industry.
Rachel Rinehart, a visiting assistant professor in the English department at Marshall University, won the national 2016 Philip Levine Prize for Poetry, which is sponsored by the creative-writing program at California State University at Fresno. Her book, The Church in the Plains, was chosen from 815 submissions.
Cindy Schwarz, a professor of physics at Vassar College, will receive the 2017 David Halliday and Robert Resnick Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Physics Teaching from the American Association of Physics Teachers.
