The U.S. Department of Education announced on Friday modest changes in the Shopping Sheet, the form it has asked colleges to use to notify students of their financial-aid awards. The changes, which resulted from feedback to the department, will be reflected in the form’s 2014-15 version.
Several changes are wording adjustments. The description of median student-loan debt at a given college, for instance, will now clarify that it is the median debt of those students who borrowed.
The department is also adding a glossary to the form and has given colleges more room to provide customized information.
