It was only a matter of time before the Duke lacrosse case became a made-for-TV movie. At least it will be on HBO.
The cable station has acquired the rights to Until Proven Innocent: Political Correctness and the Shameful Injustices of the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case, a new book by Stuart Taylor Jr. and K.C. Johnson, a Brooklyn College historian, according to Variety.
Josh Maurer, best known for producing The Pentagon Papers for HBO, will be executive producer of the film, which will explore “the dynamics of racism and class issues that made the case a national story,” according to Variety. —Sara Lipka
