Note: Institutions are ranked by the percentage of full-time first-time undergraduates who received federal Pell Grants, which are awarded on the basis of financial need, in 2014-15. “Any financial aid” includes grants, loans, assistantships, scholarships, fellowships, tuition waivers or discounts, veteran’s benefits, employer aid and other money given by federal, state, local, institutional, or other sources, aside from friends or relatives. Only institutions that are classified as “Doctoral Research Universities: Highest Research Activity” by the 2015 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education are included in the table.
