Middletown, Connecticut -- The office of the president of Wesleyan University was damaged by fire after gasoline bombs were hurled through the window. The attack occurred at 4 am. No one was in the building, and no injuries were reported.
A security guard was walking to his car in the parking lot near the building when he heard glass breaking and saw flames in the office of William M. Chace, the president, according to a university spokesman. As the guard radioed the fire department, he saw a man running from the building. The guard was unable to catch the man, the spokesman said.
