For graduating seniors, the tight economy means more rejection letters from prospective employers. Instead of wallowing in tears, however, seniors at Rice University threw a Rejection Letter Party.
“Everybody here is frustrated with the interview process,” says Shelly Fuld, one of the seniors who organized the party. “Everybody has had dozens of interviews and they still don’t have jobs.”
To gain entrance to the party, guests had to bring at least one rejection letter. Some of the letters were from graduate and medical schools.
