About the data
The data are based on revenue reported by institutions to the U.S. Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System for the fiscal years 2002 to 2022. Only degree-granting public institutions in the U.S. that provided financial data to the U.S. Department of Education are included.
