Top 5 MOOC Providers by Number of Registered Users, 2018

Coursera, founded in 2012 by two computer scientists at Stanford University, has a strong lead in the total number of learners. The only non-English-language platform on the list, XuetangX, which was founded by Tsinghua University in 2013, is authorized to deliver edX’s massive open online courses, or MOOCs, in mainland China.
