Andrew W. Barnes, dean of the School of the Arts, Communication, and Global Studies at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named president of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Brooke Barnett, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Butler University, in Indiana, has been named president of Rollins College, in Florida.

Kenneth T. Christensen, provost, senior vice president for academic affairs, and chief academic officer at the Illinois Institute of Technology, has been named chancellor of the University of Colorado at Denver.

Jamelle J. Conner, vice president for student affairs at Saint Petersburg College, has been named president of Amarillo College.

Edward J. Feser, provost and executive vice president at Oregon State University, has been named president of Saint Louis University.

Rotesha Harris, interim president of Knoxville College, has been named to the post permanently.

Steven J. Jones, vice president for administrative and student services at Mississippi Delta Community College, has been named president of the college.

Kristi Mindrup has been named president of Western Illinois University after serving as interim president since April.

William P. Mullaney, president of the State University of New York Corning Community College, has been named president of SUNY Rockland Community College.

Sarah Parker has been named president of Washington State College of Ohio after serving as interim president since July.

Matt Parlow, executive vice president and chief advancement officer at Chapman University, has been named president of the university.

Ken Witcher, interim chancellor of the Prescott campus of Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University, has been named to the post permanently.

Resignations
Ronald Johnson, interim president of Tennessee State University, has stepped down after six months.

David Kaufman, president of Capital University, in Ohio, plans to step down at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

Richard L. Ludwick, president of the University of St. Thomas-Houston, will step down.

Jeremy Moreland, president of William Woods University, in Missouri, will step down in January.

Retirements
Barbara K. Bellefeuille, president of Bethel University, in Indiana, plans to retire in June 2025.

Tamera Jahnke, dean of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State University, has been named interim provost after John Jasinski’s retirement.

Tarshia Stanley, special assistant to the president for academic affairs and former provost and vice president for academic affairs at Wagner College, has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at St. Olaf College.

DEATHS
Duane Acker, former president of Kansas State University, and the University of Nebraska’s first vice chancellor for agriculture and natural resources, died on December 13. He was 93.

Victor Brombert, a professor of romance and comparative literatures at Princeton University, died on November 26. He was 101.

Nikki Giovanni, a poet who taught in the department of English at Virginia Tech for 35 years, died on December 9. She was 81.

William J. Griffith, a former vice president for student affairs at Duke University, died on December 4. He was 98.

Morgan Jenness, an adjunct professor of global theater history at Fordham University, died on November 12. She was 72.

Louis Sandy Maisel, a professor emeritus of government and founding director of the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs at Colby College, died on December 9. He was 79.

Ronald Zaccari, who served as president of West Liberty State College and Valdosta State University, died on November 29.
