Andrew W. Barnes, dean of the School of the Arts, Communication, and Global Studies at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named president of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design.

Brooke Barnett, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Butler University, in Indiana, has been named president of Rollins College, in Florida.

Kenneth T. Christensen, provost, senior vice president for academic affairs, and chief academic officer at the Illinois Institute of Technology, has been named chancellor of the University of Colorado at Denver.

Kristi Mindrup has been named president of Western Illinois University after serving as interim president since April.

William P. Mullaney, president of the State University of New York Corning Community College, has been named president of SUNY Rockland Community College.

Sarah Parker has been named president of Washington State College of Ohio after serving as interim president since July.

Duane Acker, former president of Kansas State University, and the University of Nebraska’s first vice chancellor for agriculture and natural resources, died on December 13. He was 93.

Victor Brombert, a professor of romance and comparative literatures at Princeton University, died on November 26. He was 101.

Nikki Giovanni, a poet who taught in the department of English at Virginia Tech for 35 years, died on December 9. She was 81.

William J. Griffith, a former vice president for student affairs at Duke University, died on December 4. He was 98.

Morgan Jenness, an adjunct professor of global theater history at Fordham University, died on November 12. She was 72.

Louis Sandy Maisel, a professor emeritus of government and founding director of the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs at Colby College, died on December 9. He was 79.

Ronald Zaccari, who served as president of West Liberty State College and Valdosta State University, died on November 29.
