Robin Farias-Eisner, director of the Henry Lynch Comprehensive Cancer Research Center and chief academic officer in the School of Medicine at Creighton University, has been named president of Western University of Health Sciences.
Jeff Gingerich,provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Scranton, has been named president of St. Bonaventure University. He replaces Joseph Zimmer, who has served as acting president since Dennis DePerro’s death.
Robyn E. Hannigan,provost at Clarkson University, in New York, has been named president of Ursinus College.
John Hoffman,vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at the University of Minnesota at Crookston, has been named president of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College.

DEATHS Theodore (Ted) Lane Bracken Sr., former director of federal relations at the Consortium on Financing Higher Education, died on March 9 due to complications from cancer. He was 78.
John R. (Jack) Breihan,a professor emeritus of history at Loyola University Maryland, died of complications from Parkinson’s disease on February 18. He was 74.
Lauro Cavazos,a former president of Texas Tech University and U.S. secretary of education from 1988 to 1990, died on March 15. He was 95.
Carlton Haywood Jr.,an assistant professor in the Berman Institute of Bioethics and in the division of hematology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, died on December 31. He was 45.
