ORGANIZATIONS Appointments Kerry Greenstein, dean of student life at Sweet Briar College, has been named director of NASPA’s Small Colleges and Universities Division.
DEATHS John T. Casteen III, president emeritus of the University of Virginia, died on March 18. He was 81. Casteen also served as president of the University of Connecticut.
Saul K. Fenster, president of the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1978 to 2002, died on March 15. He was 91.
Everett L. Frost, a professor of anthropology and president emeritus at Eastern New Mexico University, died on October 21, 2024. He was 82. Frost served as president from 1991 to 2001.
Dean L. Hubbard, who served as president of Northwest Missouri State University from 1984 to 2009, died on March 23. He was 85.
Barbara Leondar, former president of the University of Maine at Fort Kent, died on July 7, 2024. She was 96. Leondar also served as a senior associate for the Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities.
David Schmittlein, who served as dean of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management from 2007 to 2024, died on March 13. He was 69.
