Mark Brown, president and chief executive officer of the Student Freedom Initiative, in Washington, D.C., has been named president of Tuskegee University, in Alabama.

Cory Clasemann, vice president for student success at Ivy Tech Community College, in Indiana, has been named president of Southeast Technical College, in South Dakota.

Richard Daniel, president of South Mountain Community College, in Arizona, has been named president of Mesa Community College.

Karrie Dixon, chancellor of Elizabeth City State University, in North Carolina, has been named chancellor of North Carolina Central University.

Louise Fincher, founding dean of the School of Health Sciences and senior vice president at Emory & Henry University, in Virginia, has been promoted to interim president of the university.

Bruno Hicks, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Dalton State College, in Georgia, has been named president of Southern Arkansas University.

Veronica Hipolito, vice president for student affairs at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, in Arizona, has been named president of South Mountain Community College.

Lloyd A. Holmes, president of De Anza College, in California, has been named president of Niagara County Community College, in New York.

Jonathan K. Jefferson, chief academic officer and provost at Lesley University, has been named president of Roxbury Community College, in Massachusetts.

Anthony Leigh, senior vice president for student and institutional development and dean of students at Huntingdon College, in Alabama, has been named president of the college.

Jenni Martin has been named president of Spokane Community College, in Washington, after serving as acting president since May 2023.

Manuel Martínez, vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty at Mercy College of Ohio, has been named president of Dominican University, in New York.

Maurie McInnis, president of Stony Brook University, part of the State University of New York, has been named president of Yale University.

Jonathan E. Michael, chair of the Board of Trustees at Bradley University, in Illinois, has been named interim president of the university.

Jana Schwartz, interim president of Paradise Valley Community College, in Arizona, has been named to the post permanently.

Resignations
Logan Hampton, president of Lane College, in Tennessee, plans to step down on July 31.

Stephen Standifird, president of Bradley University, in Illinois, will resign after four years.

Retirements
James E. Collins, president of Loras College, in Iowa, will retire in 2025.

Tuajuanda C. Jordan, president of St. Mary’s College of Maryland since 2014, plans to retire in June 2025.

DEATHS
H. Bruce Franklin, professor emeritus of English and American studies at Rutgers University, in New Jersey, died on May 19 at age 90.

Orlando (Lonnie) George Jr., president of Delaware Technical Community College from 1995 to 2014, died on May 27. He was 78.

Michael R. Lovell, president of Marquette University since 2014, died at age 57 on June 9. The cause was cancer.
