Elizabeth R. Cantwell, president of Utah State University, has been named president of Washington State University.

William M. Downs, president of Gardner-Webb University, has been named president of Campbell University.

Lee Fisher, dean of the Cleveland State University College of Law, has been named president of Baldwin Wallace University.

Adam Hasner, executive vice president for public policy for the GEO Group, a private prison company, and a former member of the Florida State House of Representatives, has been named president of Florida Atlantic University.

Jim Hess, vice provost for graduate programs at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, has been named interim president of Oklahoma State University.

Brad Hodson, executive vice president at Missouri Southern State University, has been named president of Southeast Missouri State University.

Beong-Soo Kim, senior vice president and general counsel at the University of Southern California, has been named interim president after Carol Folt’s retirement.

Michelle B. Larson, president and chief executive of the Adler Planetarium, in Chicago, has been named president of Clarkson University, in New York.

Scott Moats, former executive vice president for administration and chief business officer at Southwest Baptist University, has been named president of Anderson University, in Indiana. He will first serve as chief operating officer, before becoming president in June.

Jeanette Nuñez, lieutenant governor of Florida, has been named interim president of Florida International University.

Joseph L. Odenwald, president of Southwestern Michigan College, has been named president of Alma College, in Michigan.

Greg Pereira, vice president for student affairs at Rio Salado College, in Arizona, has been named president of Central Oregon Community College.

Andrew Rich, dean of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at City College of New York, has been named president of Franklin & Marshall College.

Alan L. Smith, dean of the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University, has been named interim president.

Sid J. Trant has been named chancellor of the University of Alabama system after serving as interim chancellor since last year.

Matt Wetstein, president of Cabrillo College, in California, will retire at the end of the year.

Jermaine Whirl, president of Augusta Technical College, has been named president of Savannah State University.

Retirements
Soraya M. Coley, president of California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, will retire at the end of July.

Carlee Drummer, president of Columbia-Greene Community College, in New York, will retire in June.

Stefanie Tompkins, director of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, has been named provost at the Colorado School of Mines.

Robert H. Jones, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at Clemson University, plans to retire later this year.

Scott Davis, provost at Mercer University, died on February 9. He was 61.

Christopher Jencks, a professor emeritus of social policy at Harvard University, died on February 8. He was 88.

Anson Rabinbach, a professor emeritus of history at Princeton University whose focus in modern European history was the rise of Nazism, died on February 2. He was 79.

Thomas P. Salmon, a former president of the University of Vermont and governor of Vermont, died on January 14. He was 92.

James Yackel, chancellor emeritus of Purdue University Calumet, died on February 7. He was 88.
