On Friday, the U.S. Department of Education released new figures for how the federal agency plans to allocate the remaining $198 million in Covid-relief funds to America’s colleges and universities, as well as to the students who attend them. This marks the fourth and final round of pandemic-relief money specifically targeted to the country’s institutions of higher education, and it follows the first, second, and third rounds of Covid-relief aid to the sector. It is the final disbursement authorized under the American Rescue Plan Act, which passed Congress and was signed into law in March 2021.
