John J. Lennon is a contributing editor for Esquire magazine. His 2018 story for the publication, “This Place Is Crazy,” was a National Magazine Award finalist in feature writing and appeared in The 2019 Best American Magazine Writing. Lennon has been incarcerated for 20 years. He is currently in Sullivan Correctional Facility, in Fallsburg, N.Y. He will be eligible for parole in 2029.
