Sahalie Donaldson
Sahalie Donaldson was a reporting intern at The Chronicle interested in covering religiously affiliated universities, higher education for incarcerated students, and campus culture, including student housing, Title IX, and access to mental-health care.
Donaldson is a 2021 graduate of the City University of New York’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, fresh out of navigating the ups and downs of university life during the Covid-19 pandemic. As an undergrad, she studied political science and journalism at Brigham Young University, where she graduated with far less pomp than she’d always envisioned — via Zoom in 2020.
Previously, Donaldson completed internships with City & State NY and The Mott Haven Herald, in New York, as well as the Deseret News and The Salt Lake Tribune, in Utah. She also served as editor in chief of Brigham Young University’s student paper, The Daily Universe.
