To the Editor:
I enjoyed the article, “Making a Home for Students With Autism” (The Chronicle, October 12), but was disappointed that the only documentary on the subject, Autism Goes to College, was not cited. Autism Goes to College is a first-of-its-kind documentary film and series of podcasts that explore the lives and experiences of unique autistic college students as they navigate college life. The film received numerous awards including a feature at SXSW-Edu and a Webby award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The film has been shown across the country to many colleges, although it’s viewing is particularly important for college faculty as well as general educators (secondary as well as postsecondary) in order to raise the bar for these students.
