Jack Longmate, an adjunct instructor of English whose tangles with his local union in Washington State led him to seek help from national union leaders, was voted out of his position as secretary of the group. Members of the Olympic College Association of Higher Education (which is affiliated with the National Education Association) voted 42 to 8 against Mr. Longmate, who has also served as the union’s vice president.
