Lesley U. Adjuncts Vote to Unionize

Adjunct faculty members at Lesley University, in Cambridge, Mass., have voted to unionize with the Service Employees International Union, according to an announcement from the SEIU’s Adjunct Action campaign, which is trying to organize adjuncts across the Boston region and throughout other metropolitan areas.

Adjuncts at Lesley’s four campuses voted, 359 to 67, in favor of unionization, the SEIU said.

The vote at Lesley marks the latest win for the SEIU’s Boston-area campaign. Last September adjuncts at Tufts University voted to form a union with the SEIU. A month later Bentley University adjuncts narrowly rejected a similar unionization effort.
