Student-Mobility Rates Stabilized Last Year, Report Says

Just over 9 percent of college students attended more than one institution during the 2012-13 academic year, a rate that stabilized after increasing from 2010-11 to 2011-12, according to a new report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center.

The report includes sector-level data on the percentage of students who enrolled in more than one institution in a single academic year, including summer and concurrent enrollments. The 2012-13 mobility rate was highest for students who began at a two-year public college, at 11.5 percent, and lowest for students who began at a four-year private nonprofit college, at 4.9 percent.
