U. of Arizona President to Take Fiesta Bowl Job

The president of the University of Arizona, Robert N. Shelton, announced today that he would step down to become executive director of the Fiesta Bowl. The move had been widely rumored over the past week, the Tucson Sentinel reported. Mr. Shelton, who has led the university for nearly five years, will replace the bowl’s previous director, John Junker, in August. Mr. Junker was fired in March after an investigation found widespread corruption and improper gifts and campaign contributions by bowl employees.
