Want to start tweeting but not sure how? The London School of Economics and Political Science wants to help. The LSE Public Policy Group and the school’s Impact of Social Sciences blog have posted a guide on how to use Twitter in university teaching, research, and “impact activities.” The guide explains basic terminology (hashtags, retweets, and so on), goes over different styles of tweeting–substantive, conversational, hybrid—and shares tips on how to use Twitter in research projects and in the classroom and as a way to measure the impact of your ideas. “Can anything of academic value ever be said in just 140 characters?” the guide asks, offering up reassurance that the answer is yes.
