Unapologetically Working for Change: Moving Forward to the Future
In 2005, beleaguered by financial issues and leadership controversies, Compton College lost its accreditation. Yet in 2017, the California-based public community college regained that status — thanks, in large part, to the leadership of its president, Keith Curry.
As higher ed begins navigating the possibilities of what this year will bring, there’s a lot of hesitation among college leaders and administrators over how best to serve students. What additional implications could come from the continued appeals against diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across campuses? How can college presidents face the barrage of challenges from the public as well as within their institutions?
“We have the chance to think bigger and bolder now than ever before,” says Curry.
In this Virtual Forum, we’ll discuss with Curry the issues facing campus leaders and explore his “Unapologetic Leadership” to get tips on how colleges can focus on their social-mobility mission. Join us on Thursday, January 23, at 2 p.m. ET.
