Working With the Families of First-Gen Students
First-generation students don’t go to college alone; they go with their families. Now that colleges are beginning to realize the wisdom of this often-repeated phrase, it’s time for them to help ready everyone for success. What can they do to ensure that students experiencing college for the first time, as well as their parents, have a positive transition?
On February 21, a panel of college administrators share their experiences working with the families of first-gen students. Watch on-demand as they share their lessons learned on meeting the unique needs of these students and their families. They’ll also discuss the specific challenges have they encountered and recommendations to other administrators on guiding first-gen families along the path to a degree.
