Mary Holz-Clause, dean of the Huntley College of Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, was named chancellor of the University of Minnesota at Crookston. She will succeed Fred Wood, who became chancellor of the Contra Costa Community College District, in California, in January. She will start on June 30.
Rachel Lindsey, former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Chicago State University, was appointed interim president of the university.
Katricia Pierson took office as president of East Central University, in Oklahoma, on March 1, making her the first woman to serve in the role. Ms. Pierson, who was provost and vice president for academic affairs, succeeded John Hargrave, who retired.
Kevin Quinn will become president of Aquinas College, in Michigan, on July 1. He is dean of the Donald J. Schneider School of Business and Economics, which he helped found, at St. Norbert College, in Wisconsin. He will succeed Juan Olivarez, who will retire on June 30.

JoAnna Schilling, interim vice president for academic affairs at Rio Hondo College, will become president of Cypress College in July. She will succeed Bob Simpson, who plans to retire.
William Taggart chief operating officer at Morehouse College, will serve as interim president. He will take over from John S. Wilson, who has led the college since 2013.
The Rev. David Tyson will serve as interim president of Holy Cross College, in Indiana. Father Tyson is director of nonprofit professional development in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. He will take over from Brother John Paige, who is taking a leave of absence before starting a new job.
Resignations
J. Keith Motley, chancellor of the University of Massachusetts at Boston since 2007, will step down at the end of the academic year and will return to the faculty after a sabbatical.

Glenn Mroz, president of Michigan Technological University since 2004, plans to step down and return to the faculty on or after June 30, 2018.

Vicky Carwein, chancellor of Indiana University — Purdue University at Fort Wayne since 2012, plans to retire by the end of 2017.

Norman Fintel, 92, president emeritus of Roanoke College, who led the institution for 14 years beginning in 1975, died on April 7.
Dan Moskwa, 85, former division dean at the State University of New York at Delhi who later served as an education consultant and program evaluator at the New York State Department of Education, died on April 1 in Syracuse, N.Y.
John O’Brien, 48, executive vice dean of the Viterbi School of Engineering and a professor of electrical engineering and electrophysics at the University of Southern California, died on March 31.
