More than half of all undergraduate students at Arizona State University were taking at least one distance-learning course in 2012, putting it ahead of the University of Maryland University College among public institutions for the number of students enrolled in online courses. The three universities that had the highest online undergraduate enrollment and the two that had the highest online graduate enrollment were for-profit institutions.
