
“The way that music feeds me and gives me energy has really helped to propel me forward in a lot of administrative ways,” says Heather Coltman, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at James Madison University. Musicians are collaborative by nature, Coltman says, and her training as a classical pianist has helped her find a balance between listening and leading in her work with faculty and staff members.
