Retirements Deborah J. Curtis, president of Indiana State University since 2018, plans to retire next year.
Jack E. Daniels III, president of Madison Area Technical College, in Wisconsin, will retire in June 2024.
Patricia Erjavec, president of Pueblo Community College, in Colorado, will retire at the end of May 2024.
Anne Houtman, president of Earlham College, in Indiana, will retire at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.
Sister Mary Eileen O’Brien, president of Dominican University of New York, plans to retire after more than 30 years with the university.

Victor Nuovo, a professor emeritus of philosophy at Middlebury College, died on October 5. He was 91.
V. David VandeLinde, former dean of the Johns Hopkins University’s G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering, died on July 29. He was 80. VandeLinde also served as vice chancellor of the University of Bath and the University of Warwick, in England.
Ryuzo Yanagimachi, a professor emeritus in the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii-Manoa, died on September 27. He was 95. Yanagimachi cloned the first mouse in 1997 and later founded the Institute for Biogenesis Research at the university.
