The new program, set to open next year, won’t be the design school’s first outpost in the French capital. Frank Alvah Parsons started a Paris program in 1921, when the school was still known as the New York School of Fine and Applied Art. The Paris branch changed its name to the Paris College of Art in 2010, leaving the New School free to return to Paris under its own name.
