The president of the Southern Illinois University system has ordered two investigations into the hiring of the chancellor’s daughter and son-in-law on the Carbondale campus.
The Daily Egyptian, the campus’s student newspaper, first reported that the two members of the family of Carlo D. Montemagno, the Carbondale chancellor, had been hired for positions that were created for them.
“The information that’s been reported certainly presents a set of facts that is appropriate to examine,” Randy J. Dunn, the system’s president, told the Daily Egyptian.
